Avast and Webroot are two of the largest antivirus software providers. Both offer great tools and customer service to answer questions from you can try these out users. Both have extensive FAQ pages and premium customers can also submit unlimited support tickets. Avast offers troubleshooting and answers to frequently asked questions on its website, while Webroot is accessible via social media, by phone, or live chat.

The user interface of security suites is an additional aspect to be considered. The more user-friendly and simple the interface is the better it will be for the user. Both Avast and Webroot have simple interfaces that are easy to use, and both offer a variety of tutorials and “learn more” buttons.

Both security suites offer a high level of malware protection and both offer protection for Macs as well as Android devices. However, Avast has a more comprehensive set of features, including the management of passwords and multi-device protection in contrast to Webroot has a simpler version that only includes anti-virus and malware protection.

Winner: Avast

Avast is the clear winner in this category. It is the most effective malware-protection according to the most recent tests by AV Comparatives and SE Labs. Webroot however, didn’t participate in these evaluations and scored only average in previous tests. It’s possible that Webroot’s unique tests aren’t aligned with the methods used by independent labs to test antivirus software. Webroot, for example uses malware samples in an environment that simulates their behavior. This can affect the results of some tests.
